EvalCRE mourns the loss of our Co-founder, Stafford L. Hood, Ph.D.
(February 12, 1952 - Januray 15, 2023)
We are sad to announce the sudden passing of Dr. Stafford L. Hood, Co-founder of EvalCRE. Dr. Hood was also the Founder of the Center for Culturally Responsive Evaluation (CREA) and the Sheila M. Miller Professor of Education/Curriculum & Instruction Emeritus at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC).
The work continues. However, we pause for a moment to reflect on Dr. Hood's professional contributions to the field of Culturally Responsive Evaluation and his mission and vision for EvalCRE, emphasizing the ACESAS model he co-created.
I invite you to stay connected so that you are updated on our progress as we continue this endeavor, which is now in honor of and a tribute to the legacy of our esteemed Co-founder, Dr. Stafford Hood.

The African American Culturally Responsive Evaluation System for Academic Settings (ACESAS)© is a framework outlining the method for conducting culturally responsive evaluation in educational settings. Although originally designed for African American students in educational settings, the ACESAS© can be used across cultural groups as well as with for-profit and nonprofit organizations, foundations, social service agencies, and federally funded programs to address programmatic issues of diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility.
